International rail consultancy Interfleet Technology has expanded its operations and service offering with the acquisition of German company Die Ingenieurwerkstatt GmbH (DI).
Die Ingenieurwerkstatt, based in Wiesbaden and founded in 1996, is one of the leading European consultancies for rail safety engineering, maintenance management and railway asset management.
Employing over 30 people, its consultants provide support across the railway industry, including systems and component manufacturers, operators of urban, regional and long-distance transport, state authorities, financiers and infrastructure owners. The scope of services include freight, passenger, light rail and metro rail projects including procurement, optimisation of operations and maintenance, systems and safety engineering, plus the development and support of related life cycle cost analysis software tools.
Die Ingenieurwerkstatt also has a reputation for delivering life cycle cost analyses on railway equipment and components as well as highly effective seminars on rail asset lifecycle management and systems/safety engineering.

The acquisition of the entire issued share capital, for an undisclosed sum, was completed last week.
